Self catering accommodation on Faial, the Azores |
A comfortable 2 double bedroom vacation home in rural style. For those who love peace and quiet,
bird- and nature lovers. A get-away to relax and enjoy the beautiful views and sunsets
over the Atlantic ocean. An extremely good starting point for excursions and hikes. No
neighbours, just you and the birds, maybe a cow or a goat in the field next door.
The house is built on two levels, the living area and kitchen are on the top floor, with
the view of the ocean and guestroom with adjacent bathroom. French sliding doors onto a
large balcony.
On the ground level is the master bedroom annexe sitting room with a pull-out sofa
as an extra bed for a child. There is an adjacent bathroom with walk-in shower and
big oval bath tub. Sliding French doors open up to the garden.
There is also a laundry-room on the ground floor with washer and dryer, utility sink, iron and ironing board.
Other amenities of the house are: a hairdryer, an outside BBQ, a woodstove, a pair of
very good binoculars, a stack of games, a DVD player, two pair of rubber boots, and
some garden tools for when your hands start itching.
Both bedrooms have double beds. Bedlinen and towels are provided. The modern kitchen is
equipped with 5-burner gas stove, extractor, microwave, convection oven, large fridge
and in-sink waste disposal.
It is situated on the WSW side of the island of Faial, one of the nine Azorean
islands, close to the Nature Park and protected area called ‘Capelinhos’.
It was here that in 1957 an underwater volcanic eruption occurred, which caused two
small islands to rise out of the ocean and form a new peninsula, connected to the
mainland.
